I’ve used sport tracker during last two month.
It run very well on my Lumia 800 Windows phone 7.5 until my smartphone records two or three hour of activities.
When i do long run (five or six hour or more) at the end of activity sport tracker display ‘resuming’ and then hang.
All of my data are lost and i could not recover it.
    Thank you for your comments

I had a Nokia Smart Phone 5230 and I had the Sports Tracker on it. Now, I have a Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone. I have downloaded the Sports Tracker on it as well, it is working but I can not find some features in it. E.g.: how can I make laps in my running, as I could do it before? There’s no button or somtething for it? Or I can not upload my photos taken during the workouts… can I?
    Thank you for answers.

  4. Andrea

    Hi, i have a samsung omnia w.
How can i share my workout on sport tracker.com ?
I push the button save&sync but nothing happens ….. help me …… on my nokia 5800 xm it works perfectly …… Thanks.

This is bad. First time I used Sports Tracker on my new Lumia 800…I used this 2 to 3 times weekly on my Nokia E71…but today, I lost the first 53 km of my bike ride…it just disappeared…started it again…after another 66 I had to make a call and it told me if I continued I would lose that workout too. Didn’t bother turning it on again… My e 71 would let me make calls, send texts and take pictures all without losing any of my workout data. I’ve only had the phone a few days…spent months wanting one and am seriously disappointed that so many things I took for granted on the E 71 are not possible to do on the Lumia 800.

Hi Lois, the WP os is different from Symbian and the rest. It doesn’t allow multitasking and you need to be careful not to leave the app as otherwise it closes. You can take a photo if you press the photo button on the side while being in the app and press the back button afterwards to return to the app. Any other way will close the app. We will be improving the app going forward as much as we can with the limitations.

      1. rox

Can’t you use the background agent?

    2. Lumia User!

Hi Lois! Same here, I have tried to use sportstracker with my new Lumia around ten times. Sportstracker havent managed to track the route completely NOT a single time, zero, nada! Four or five times whole session have just vanished from the program. This is so bad!

    3. Volkan Kahyaoğlu

if you restart to application after starting the workout and leave the app. It will definetly restart it by closing the first one. you should use the back button on the phone. find the sports tracker app and enter it. Now, you reached the first opened app with your current workuot.

Hi guys, please vote for open bluetooth interface on Windows Phone! We all want to get Sports-tracker heart rate belt working on WP, right?

Simply wish to say your article is as astonishing. The clarity in your put up is simply nice and i can assume you are a professional on this subject. Fine with your permission let me to seize your feed to keep up to date with impending post. Thanks a million and please carry on the rewarding work.

  8. Rodrigo Urubatan

I cannot run sports tracker and take pictures at the same time, the sports tracker app closes and I loose anything tracked until that moment.
This is a serious bug in my opinion, other apps do not close if I start the camera app …
In the symbian version I was used to stop during outdoor activities to take pictures.

if it is not possible to keep the app open, please save partial states and allow resuming when the app is re-opened.

    1. Bart

SportsTracker shutting down without saving any data is really a serious bug. The ‘back-button'(arrow) on Lumia 800 is tapped to easily, so it is to easy to shut down SportsTracker. SportsTracker for Windows Phone should have “do you really want to shut down?” screen. Or even better, keep running in the background. I already lost 3 or 4 exercises due to this bug. PLEASE debug!!!
I used SportsTracker on Symbian phone Nokia XM5800 and never had this problem.

      1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

The confirmation warning to the back button is coming in the next release which is being reviewed by Microsoft at the moment.

Nice writing. I appreciate this kind of style. Blog added to my favorite list.

How can I destroy the old run-out of the Lumia 800? And how I could name, and parameterized species like Other 1, Other 2 ?

  12. GeeBee

Will you be able to add steps per minute to the WP app? I haven’t tried the actual Lumia phones, but they must surely have accelerometers for screen image flipping and so forth?

Thanks an best regards from a user on N8, E6 and in the past the 5800.

    GB

    1. Bart

I walked with the Nokia XM5800 as well. And i also missed the step count using the Lumia 800. There is a motion detector in de Lumia, so why does Sportstracker not use it??
The Lumia does a better job tracking the route, but I do miss the steps…

  13. Jerome

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the very well made and smooth looking app: I love it! I’ve always had a secondary HRM device, but as soon as that gets implemented i’ll definitely buy the belt.
The only thing I’d like to suggest is adding the data-view functionality on the phone as well: i always like to get a quick overview of whether I’m running at constant speed..

  14. Runner

Have you fixed the belt issue? That the current belts are not working with Lumia? Please, do not made a mistake that we have to through these belts away and buy a new one. That just don’t work.

Can you have a phone call at the same time you are using the ST?

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi!

The HRM will be supported on Windows Phone when Microsoft adds the right Bluetooth support to the platform. Until then there is unfortunately nothing we can do about it :( So you don’t have to buy a new one – just wait for the update from Microsoft.

Yes you can. Taking phone calls is supported but otherwise WP does not support running the app in the background (yet).

      Jussi / Team ST

      1. Aarni

Is it sure that Microsoft is adding this missing bluetooth support or are we just hoping that they will do it?

        1. Berserkr

Exactly. Jussi, any comments on Aarnis question?

        2. Jussi Solja

We can’t obviously speak on behalf of Microsoft but our educated guess is that adding support is a mater of time. How long a time – we can only guess. Fingers crossed!

          – Jussi / Team ST

  15. mrplot

Why do you need a third party membership to win a LUMIA? Hey guys be strong, refuse facebook.

  16. Neil

I missed Sports Tracker when I got rid of my Nokia 5800 so it is great to get it back now on WP7! Look forward to using it again soon.

  17. Onisto

Windows Phone App “run” very well; but is necessary to add an option to set the minimum valid GPS signal level (or a variable frequency of tracking point) to increase the precision of distance misuration (the Zig-Zag tracking is very annoying thing!) … this is the only feature really missing.

  18. Andreas

I have had Nokia handsets for the past 15 years and Symbian smartphones (E71, E71, N8) for the past 4 years. I was really enthused about using ST on my N8.
The fact that the WP7+ version cannot link to the heart-rate monitor is rediculous. There are plenty of apps out there which can do tracking and give you an approximate calories-account, so the ONLY real SP for ST was the link to the HRM (and, admit it, guys, the HRM was the raison d’etre for the ST app in the first place!)

So, without the HRM-link the WP-version of STM is worthless (I already have 5 apps which can do similar stuff on my HTC WP7 phone….)

    Disappointed….

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi Andreas!

Unfortunately adding support for the Sports Tracker HRM is out of our hands for the moment as the WP platform does not have the necessary Bluetooth profiles to enable support. Once those are added to the platform we will add support immediately :)

  19. Stefano Masseroli

Hi, I have a Nokia Lumia 800, but I can’t connect to my Sports-Tracker account (which I opened with my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic)!!!

The application is running well, but when I try to connect with my credentials (I verified: they are correct), simply….nothing happens!!!
(I press “Login” and after one second nothing happens: I tried with every type of connection…)

    Please help me!

We’re also waiting for an italiana localization…

    Thank you very much.

    1. Robin Heringa

Same here! Any resolution found yet?
App tries to login, but after a second the “action” stops and the screen remain the same without any notification!

      Please help!
      Tx.

      — Robin

      1. Sam

Hi, I had the same problem with Lumia 800 and the solution was to use my email address instead of username. I dunno what was causing this but with email address the login works for me like a charm.

        1. Jussi Solja

          Hi all!

We’ve gotten similar reports from quite a few people and thanks to you we found an annoying bug causing the issues with login. That has now been fixed and an update is on the way any day now!

          – Jussi / Team ST

  20. goranius

Hi! The interface is very pretty, but I miss a featured that I think it is very important:
When it paired with the bluetooth sports tracker heart rate monitor or polar.
    Thank youy in advanced

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi!

The WP platform does not yet have the necessary Bluetooth profile support. We have to wait for Microsoft to update the OS and when that happens we will add support for the Sports Tracker HRM immediately :)

At the moment we don’t have any idea when the update will happen so let’s just keep our fingers crossed that it will be soon!

      – Jussi / Team ST

  21. Arturo Espinosa

Hi. I’ve been shared a track that a friend and I did last night and I would like to put it on Google Earth. How do I download the track data so I can convert it and open the info we captured with his GPS on my Google Earth client?

    1. Pablo Ramos

Tanto en el móvil como en la web puedes exportar los tracks a gpx. Si arrastras un archivo gpx sobre el g.earth ya podrás estudiar los perfiles por tramos y etc…

  22. Laurent

    Already 2216km running tracked with S-T in 2011 …
I can’t run without it… Was forced to move to Android due to Nokia’s price and bad comments… :(
I also miss my old Nokia express 5800 …
Would be happy to switch back to a fast running Nokia Lumia … :o))
    Laurent.

When will Symbian version have the missing features?

ahhh yes, I own a Galaxy S2 (Andriod) but do all my tracking with my old handset the Nokia N97 (Symbian) – everytime I see the ST UI on the Andriod I feel jipped about the lack of updates!

Still a great app & use it all the time :)

  54. Hari Gupta

yeah thx for the app :)

  55. John-Pierre

Is the heart rate feature included in the new Windows phone app? I use sports-tracker now on my Nokia/Symbian with the Polar WearLink®+ transmitter. Thinking of getting the Nokia Lumia but need heart rate tracking.
