Update on the backend work/ service break

The work on the new backend is progressing nicely. We have gradually started to open our service since yesterday evening, so some of you are already able to access it through the phone. By the end of today the service will be available to all of you. We are first opening the mobile access and later on the website. We’ll keep you posted on the progress.

    Hi Katja/Team Sports Tracker…
    Thank you for a fantastic mobile Application. I’m using “ST” on my BlackBerry Z10 and it’s awesome, even in “Beta”. Only had two issues with the “Total Distance” not restarting after “Autopause”… probably a weak GPS signal. Has not happened since. Sadly, I am currently unable to “Log In” from my Mobile so for now, I need to input my data manually from my PC. After each workout I take screen shots off my phone then “Bluetooth” them to my PC as a basic form of backup…

    Hi,

    All my previously uploaded photos do not exist anymore (friends can not see the photos anymore, too). Where can I find them ? Can they be restored?
    A workout shows 10 pics. but in real, I have uploaded only 5 pics. via PC.

    Furhtermore, I can not edit my workout on my mobile, e.g. including a workout-comment.

    In addition, no photo can be taken during my workout (live picture). It can never be synchronised with my workout, saved on my mobile.

    I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4 with version 4.2.2 (Android).

    Since, Ocobter 4th 2013 it does not work really seriously.

      Hi, sorry for the photo issue. We’re looking into that but it might unfortunately be that we can’t restore them. To fix the editing issue, please logout and back in on your phone. The photo upload issues is a bug that will be fixed to the next version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

        Hi Katja,

        Why could it be that you can not restore the photos (what did you change on the Server, Settings, etc., … ?). When is a next update for the mobiles issued ? Why should I pause my workouts to take a picture although these photos would not (never again) be uploaded/synced ?! Please fix these bugs with the next version. Thank you verym much.

        Editing issue:
        Logout % Login again did not change anything. It still does not work , the same problem at all.
        Please fix.

        Furthermore, my profile-photo is not the same on my mobile when checking my profile and seeing comments to friends (my Profile). That is strange. Please fix this issue, too.

        When checking new “possible friends” on my mobile (People you may know/invite new friends), all of them did their last workout dated 01.01.1970.
        Fortuity.

        Before, it worked perfectly. Now, some bugs may be fixed – pleases !!

          HI Tomas, we moved from and old backend to a new one and unfortunately on the way there were some issues. We’ll look into those as soon as we find some time. The new Android version will come out soon. It seems that you have so many issues with the app that no one else has reported, so I’d recommend you reinstall the whole app. Make sure your workouts are synced to the web before you do that as they will be deleted from your phone.

    Hi!
    I cycled all day yesterday logging track and made some photos. Now I see only Total Distance, Avg speed, Duration of my workout. No track, no photos. Same on adroid phone and on web.
    Data file on phone is missing!
    My friend who cycled with me, got everything ok on his iphone.
    Your android app broke me down like this several times during last 2 years. Please hire good project manager and testers for this app!

    When I try to login to sportstracker there ist always this “Error #2048”. I tried different browser but no success so far. Is this something related to my PC or still your server trouble?

    Hi SportsTracker, Since your service break, every time I upload a workout from my Nokia E71 with NO sharing option selected, they are shared anyway, with friends being emailed each time. It worked ok before…

    As I reported a couple of weeks ago, I am still not getting my cycling data shared to Facebook. I can see the data on my iPhone after the event, and it comes up on my laptop on my page on your website, but it does not share to facebook like it used to. I have sharing and Facebook enabled on the phone and have logged out and logged in again to trigger any updates. Any ideas please?

    Hi Sports-Tracker-Team. Everytime i share my runnings on facebook. But to my mind befor it looks smarter to see the Running-logo and some workout data directly.

    Hi,
    same issue as LeChat: newly downloaded osm-maps don’t show up on my Symbian phones (Nokia 5800 + new Nokia 808), while the phone does download a lot of data, but the display stays blank. All the worse, for I just bought the 808 to work with a better display (which it definitely is) while continuing with the osm-maps when sports tracking, which I really really love. So – is there any other way to save a functioning osm-map (I strongly prefer osm-maps for cycling and walking) directly to the phone? I’d really much much appreciate your repairing this issue or some workaround help.

    When sharing tracks on facebook, there will appear just ugly ad about downloading sports tracker, not even a little image of the route or some data about it. I think you should improve it, people like to share their tracks with their friends (you could add a little line suggesting to download the app but not the whole publication). I´m seriously thinking to change back to Endomondo, sorry.

    Hi, unfortunately maps are not shown any more on my Symbian phone (Nokia E71). I noticed this first around SEP 28th – no improvement till now.

        Hi I’m not able to view my account, keeps locking up with ‘logging on’. logged off my ipad and logged back on and lost all my workouts, 153 in total. last recorded update from server was 22/9/13 before I logged out. Phone still holds workouts.

          Yes, all synced workouts will be removed as they’re safe on the cloud (you won’t see them as you’re not logged in). Once you login, you’ll see them again. So please try to logout and back in.

    I used Sports Tracker to record the data from a cycle ride on 24 September and it displays correctly on my iPhone but has not synced to my facebook account as it usually does. Is there some way I can upload it after the event?

    I haven’t used Sportstracker for a few weeks. When I log on now, all my workouts have disappeared! The workout I did today, didn’t synchronise to the web. I’ve been using the Android app since a year of 2 and on my phone my workouts are still available.
    When will this issue be solved?

    it is fantastic!! We both have problems on a regular basis on our phones as well as the computer.
    The problems on the phones include GPS not engaging to track milage,
    app not loading properly and sync and sharing our workouts.
    I suppose the computer end version is part of the same not syncing issue.
    Hope you guys get going soon cause the concept and styling are awesome!! =)
