Sports Tracker for Windows Phone v.1.3 out now!

Time for a little update to our Windows Phone app. Check the full list of changes below and head to Windows Phone Marketplace on your phone to get the update.

The main thing we’ve wanted to tackle with this release is making sure that the users of our Windows Phone app won’t lose data accidentally by switching the app to the background.

PLEASE NOTE: If you switch Sports Tracker to the background while tracking (taking a phone call, taking pictures etc) it is important to use the Task Switcher (A list of your active apps) of your phone to switch back to Sports Tracker. You can access the Task Switcher by pressing long on the “back arrow” on your Windows Phone.

If you re-activate Sports Tracker after other activity by tapping the icon on your phone’s main menu or home screen a new instance of the app will be launched instead of returning to your active tracking.

What’s new in Sports Tracker for Windows Phone v.1.3

  • Added notification preventing accidental exit from the application
  • Clarified dialogs to prevent accidental deletion of workouts
  • Clarified dialogs to prevent accidental disconnection from the sports-tracker.com service
  • The application stores previous workout settings and uses those as a default for new workouts
  • Fixed timezone issues appearing under some circumstances
  • Fixed server connection issues under some circumstances
  • Fixed wrong distance unit display on Facebook sharing
  • General stability enhancements

Next up for v1.4. (UPDATE: Targeted release first / second week of July) our Windows Phone team is working on improving the GPS-filtering and adding an auto-save feature to help even more with preventing the  accidental loss of tracked data.

Other improvements are also on the way so stay tuned by following this space and following us on Twitter and on Facebook :)

Hope you enjoy the new version!

How is the long-awaited update to WP 8 going?. Current version is useless and only old track data keeps me waiting. Every month seems to bring another month delay to update. Time to drop ST? Shed some light to this, ST makers.

Unquestionably imagine that that you said. Your favourite reason seemed to be on the internet the simplest factor to have in mind of.
I say to you, I certainly get irked at the same time as other people consider worries
that they just do not recognise about. You managed to hit
the nail upon the highest and defined out the entire thing with no need side
effect , people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more.

    Thanks

This is sad. Your api is private. I can’t use my hrm bell with other apps.

And you don’t make a complete app for WP8.

Please, free the api and let others try to do the things well.

    Thx in advance.

  4. AhmadKhalifa

doesn’t work well on Lumia 920
it doesn’t calculate the total distance, meanwhile the time timer keeps working but the distance meter doesn’t work it get stuck at a random distance.

  5. Jack Gillman

This is a pretty good tracker, i use it for cycling. I find it to be more accurate than others that ive used including strava, and you can just upload the gps file from this to strava. Thanks!

  6. cristiolo

I abandoned sport-tracker after several years in favor of runtastic due to the absence of a valid and functional app for wp8.

  7. CRISTIOLO

    Kun vapautat versio WP8?

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

:D Very well said! It will still take some time until we can release the WP8 app. We had to put it on hold because we’ve had some issues getting out our new backend system, but hopefully in a few weeks time we’ll be able to release that and can continue on the WP8 work. I’m really sorry for the long wait!

  8. Jarkko

Mitkä ovat viimehetken kuulumiset, tukeeko uusi wp8 versio polar bt -sykevöitä?

  9. Mika

WP8 Nokia Lumia 720.

      1. OPA

        Pelkkä reittidatan keräyssofta.
Viimeinen päivitys vuosi sitten. WP8 myös jo vuoden ikään tulossa.
Vanhassa puhelimessa ihan killerisovellus. Tässä ei.
No mulla on jo kokeilussa toisen tekemä kun en aio odotella kuukausia parannettua versiota :(

    Hello!

Can I upload my workouts from ST version 1.2?
I used version 1.2 since autumn 2012 and it never uploads workouts, only saved to phone. Now I installed ST version 1.3, it works, but many workouts are only in version 1.2 (which still running in my phone). New version shows uploaded workouts and does not “now” nothing about ver 1.2 workouts in (same) phone. Can I save them?
    (Nokia 610, WP 7.8)

Will the update for WP 7.5 phones ever be issused?

  12. Ringo

I am loving your online system and app. I am currently using Lumia 920. Although it’s an old app, it has been working great on my device. I noticed that you guys are building a new app for WP8. May I have a few feature requests?

    1) I would like to purchase your heart rate monitor, can you make the app works with that (or, eventually)?
    2) the Kcal calculation is very inaccurate. Can that be fixed as well?
    3) As I understand about unit: 1 Kcal = to 1000 cal. If my calorie burn was 1505 cal, can you make it to be either 1505 cal, or 1.505 Kcal ?
    4) Would like to share the workout over social network, rather than needing to do it separately over the website.

    Thanks

  13. Jaakko

Hi, how can I connect my sports tracker in Lumia 820 when I have done my account by Facebook -login?

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, when you connected with FB, it asked for a username and password. You can retrieve a password on our website with either your username or email. Not now though as we have a server maintenance ongoing.

  14. ako

This week i started this year running session. Before i had samsung (android) and used sports tracker. Now i migrate to wp nokia 820. Unfortinately from 5 running sessions only 1 was saved – and other data was lost. I cannot use this soft if i loose data almost every time. I love sports tracker and all training history is in ST. But life is life and i will give up and change to annother app.

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, sorry for the issues. The current app is built for WP7 phones and doesn’t work very well on WP8 phones. We’re building a new app for WP8 phones during the next few months, so I hope you’ll come back and check out that in a few months time:).

      1. Jari

So instead of earlier promised “before summer” now it is a “few months” for the new WP8 version of the ST. Meaning any date before end of the year 2013? I am getting a bit frustrated. I bought the Lumia 920 because it was said you’d bring out a new version before the summer.
I would suggest adding live tracking (so others can follow or training or event live) as a premium service for a nominal fee.

  15. Jarkko

If I buy Lumia 620 (WP8) will it support my Polar BT HRM in near future with Sports tracker?

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, unfortunately it’s too early to tell. We’ll inform about the supported belts later on.

  16. pooga

Please please add possibility to run the program in backround. I know this can be done with Windows phone 8, just do it.

I want to keep Spotify as frontmost app while jogging, sports tracker should continue to run in the backround.

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, the current app is built for WP8 which is why it doesn’t support background tasking. We’re building a new app for WP8 during the next few months. Sorry for the delay.

  17. Toni

Will the WP version ever contain the voice feedback feature of the Android version? Switched from Android to WP and to my disappointment the WP version is lacking many features of the Andoid version. The voice feedback being the most significant one.

    1. Tim

I’m quite curious about this one too.
My wife has an iPhone and Sports Tracker gives her the voice prompts… Why isn’t there such feature on the Windows Phone? :(

      1. WP7.8

Although I really like ST, the long wait for this feature (or at least information if it’s even going to be developed) might make me move to endomondo… :(

  18. Victor

    Hi ST support!

I’m still waiting for your answer about the WP8 development. (Is it contains such a new features for older phones too?)

What a relief I’ve just now find that Lumia 610 will get an update in 1Q13 from 7.5 SW ver. to 7.8 SW ver. which will contain new bluetooth profiles!

    (Check it here: http://innowrx.com/companies/microsoft/windows-phone/windows-phone-7-8-features-leaked-release-expected-in-q1-2013/)

I hope one of theme is what you need for HRM. I suggest you to answer Microsoft directly. I am sure you have a better channel to Microsoft than me. ;-)

    Best regards,
    Victor

Ps.: Sorry for spaming you, but I really love your app and I need my daily HRM datas. :-)

    1. Victor

      I mean ask MS directly.

    2. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, the WP8 will be completely rebuilt and can not be used on WP7 phones (just like the os itself). Unfortunately we can’t do anything re the hrm. Believe me, we would love to add the support if it was possible.

      1. Victor

        Hi,

Not of those new profiles what will be part of the WP7.8 is not fit to HRM? :-(
Thank you for chacking it so fast.

        BR,
        Victor

PS.: I’m really sad because I will use this phone approx. 4 year… It seems without HRM. Which makes me really really sad. HRM add at least 50% of my user experience of my training, so without it ST (and my trainings) never be the same. Thank you MS and TS.

  19. Victor

    Hi,

I’ve asked the MS about this and I’ve this answer from a Former MS MVP – Mobile Device expert (see on this link (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-sync/lack-of-bluetooth-protocol-causes-that-im-unable/0507420d-59ed-477d-a3bf-1b99af22a5cd):

“The question was really about support under WP7. The BT profiles supported in WP7 are

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.3)
    Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
    Headset Profile (HSP 1.1)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.1)
    Under WP8

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.4)
    Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.1)
    Object Push Profile (OPP 1.1)
Out of Band (OOB) & Near Field Communications (NFC)
Apparently a HRM requires either OPP, OOB, or NFC. My guess is OPP. There has been some rumor that WP7.8 will enhance/increase some WP7 BT profiles, but that hasn’t been completely confirmed, nor detailed. May be device dependent as well.

There are lots of BT profiles not supported by various phones. MS chose this limited set, for some reason, likely development effort, perceived utility, licensing, whatever. It was a choice, not a lack of ability. I wouldn’t expect much to change beyond what they currently do, or in the case of WP7, may do with WP7.8.”

And I got a news about your new WP8 developing what is in progress now. (See here: http://support.sports-tracker.com/customer/portal/articles/864480-wp8)

Could you please answer that you WP8 implementation will use a totall new solution which can be used on “old” (this is quiete strong word for a 2 week old phone) WPs like WP7.5?

    Thanks,
    Victor

  20. Victor

Sorry I forgot to mention, that I’m using Lumia 610, which as I guess doesn’t support WP8 at all…
So I’m glad that WP8 will support that protocol what you are able to use, but it doesn’t help me and others who use Lumia WP 7.5 .

Please tell me, that I misunderstood what you are said, and there will be the proper support in older WPs too not only in WP8.

    All the best,
    Victor

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi Victor, unfortunately the WP7 phones don’t have the Bluetooth profile that is needed for the monitor support. So we really can’t do anything about it. Sorry!

  21. Victor

    Dear ST team!

I love your app, I think it does its duty very well. I’m a SW tester, so I see things in SW developing every day. Little bug or errors appear, but that’s life, they’ll be corrected then everybody is happy again. I want to ask you about HRM support. I read the whole blog, but I don’t believe, that HRM support is missing from Windows Phone application. I mean no way! Are you kidding me? I am not familiar with Bluetooth protocols, but doesn’t any workaround exits? Really? I really understand that you would like to use your already implemented code, which you use in Symbian version. I really appriciate what you do, honestly I do. But please… I support you with my 69,9 EUR when by the HRM and I really happy with that, I love to use it every time, and I really use it on very very long kilometers in every and each occasion when I do any kind of training, so I’m very disappointed about this fact. Can we (the community of yours) somehow able to reach that Microsoft change my mind? Or what should we do? I want to use my HRM, that’s why I bought it. Please try to do something not just wait. I’m mad, then I sad, then I mad, then I sad… BR, Victor

  22. Simon Darney

    Hi,

Great to hear an update will be avialable in new year with HRM support for Windows Phone. Please make it happen ASAP. Will the app be compatible with the HRM I bought from Sports Tracker in 2010?

    Simon

    1. Simon Darney

      I’m using a Lumia 920 for info.

    2. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, we’ll let you know later on which belts will be supported, we need to do some testing first before we promise anything:).

      1. Tracker

Please add support for older Polar BT -model too :)

  23. Ari Juntunen

Any update on BT HRM support for Windows Phone 8? My 920 feels very retaded when it can not do HRM. According to Microsoft:
“The following Bluetooth user profiles are supported.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP 1.2)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.4
    Hands Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP 1.1)
    Object Push Profile (OPP 1.1)
Out of Band (OOB) and Near Field Communications (NFC)”
Also many apps on Windows Phone 8 can do stuff on background, so I hope we will soon have a version of Sports Tracker that will track while on the background!

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, we’ll release an app for WP8 during first few months of next year as well as hrm support.

      1. Mikko

        Hello there, ST Team!
As the first few months of the year are here now and almost gone, I guess there might be some delay. Could You please give us any new information about the planned schedule of the WP8 app? Knowing that WP is the fastest growing mobile OS nowadays, I think there is a bunch of us waiting…
Happy Tracking, keep up the good work!

        1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi Mikko, unfortunately it’ll still take time as we have to get the new backend working first before we can continue the work on the WP8 app.

  24. Mikee

It’s already November 2012, I still can’t use your apps with my Lumia 800…. Do you know any other apps that I can use?

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, why can’t you use the app?

      1. wil

        Hi Katja,

Could we have an update of when we can expect v1.4 to be out? This platform really does not handle multitasking well (my whatsapp caused this app to stop tracking and lose my running data) so autosave is really essential.

        Thanks (:
        wil (Lumia 900 user)

  25. Tassos

    Hi there!

I have discovered that the app can’t do GPS tracking in the background and as I understand it it is an OS thing. I have the app in the background because I have an interval program in the foreground which will not run on the background either (for some reason it goes into to pause then). Do you have any plans to add interval training as an option to your app, and if so a bit more advanced than just one fixed time, have a look at push it interval timer to get an idea.

    Cheers

    1. Henk

I also use both sports tracker and Push it interval trainer and hav the same issue. So any combination of the functionality of both apps combined or having them both run at same time would be great.

    2. Kramerspitz

Yes, at the moment Sports Tracker is practically unusable. I wonder if the famous version 1.4 will ever come. At least half of the workouts I’ve done since I use a Windows Phone have been lost. I’m scared to use the camera because I’m never sure if I close Sports Tracker accidentally! I won’t answer phone calls during workouts because I’m scared that Sports Tracker shuts itself down. The latest was, I finished a 4 hour workout, wanted to save it and the program crashed on me. Utterly disappointing. I understand, that Windows Phone platform is not very interesting for you guys, but then stop developing for it all together. I will look for an alternative very soon (for Sports Tracker, not for Windows phone).

  26. Vladimir

I found a bug when the app 100% of crashes! Just start a new workout, then lock your phone, then hold button to activate the camera, now the app is closed and all the data about the training is lost! But if you Minimize the application before lock your phone, it does not close when you activate the camera. Please fix this issue in next version. Thx.

(sorry for my English, using Google Translate)

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, yes we are aware of this and will try to fix it as soon as possible.

      1. Mikee

It’s already November 2012, I still can’t use your apps…… My Lumia 800??? Looks like your done?

  27. José

Good evening. The version of my Windows Mobile is 6.5.
Is there an app for my windows version???

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, no you have to have Windows Phone for our app to work.

  28. PikachuJoel

I’m using Nokia N8. Today I ran the usual route of 2.5km, but the application shows I only ran 1.33km. After using the application for about almost 2 years, this is the 1st time I saw this error. Are your team handling this kind of issue now?

    1. Mike

Today, the 22 of Aug,2012 I’ve done 24 km on roller skiing. After the finish I’ve found out my N-8 crashed the file, after recovering showed only the 15 km of tracks. Any suggestions?

  29. joern

I’m using ST for 2 years now on different Symbian devices.
But it’s crap for Windows phone. Besides application crashes and lost of data, the AUTOPAUSE function doesn’t work properly. There is alwasy a gap between ST and my bike computer for the time and thus the average speed which was not the case with symbian.
I went back using my C6 for bike trainings because modifying every workout manually is anoying.
When will you fix the autopause function?
It would already help if one could modify the time on the device client (like under symbian)…

    –jörn

  30. Vladimir

Hi ST team. I hope you are know about these issues:
    – app sometimes can shut down independently when tracking! (i’m just unlocking my phone for check tracking progress but app already closed..)
    – app can lose connection with GPS when phone is locked (may be necessary to do more requests?…)
And I hope in the next version of the app these issues will be fixed.
    (using Nokia Lumia 710)

  31. Gestur

    Wery Nice app!!
Really loved it on my Nokia N8, but now on my WP7 phone it’s just disappointing!
What about the Unsupported Polar-Bluetooth Heart rate monitor that I bought from your shop???
When do you think this update will be available?
Or is it just Microsoft that have the answer to that??
    /Gestur

    1. Jussi Solja

Unfortunately the BT belt support is dependent on the platform so yes that one is up to Microsoft and we can’t do anything about that.

      – Jussi / Team ST

      1. Pekka R.

        Hello,

Any news regarding windows phone 8 and BT belts? This will be one big point while deciding whether to buy windows phone 8 or Android..

        1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, unfortunately we can’t comment on that at the moment but we’ll let you know once we have some news to share.

  32. Charles

Hi team, it seems there’s a big delay on releasing v1.4!!! Can you give us un update on when it will be ready? Thanks!!!

    1. Jussi Solja

Unfortunately you’re right with that one. Our team has been busy fixing some unexpected server issues to keep the service up and running and that has taken a toll on the timeline for the WP update.

Currently we don’t have an estimate on when 1.4. will roll out. Follow the blog / our Twitter and Facebook for more info!

      Thanks for your understanding!

      – Jussi / Team ST

  33. Dulin

    Hi ST team

I switched from E6 to Lumia 710, installed ST and I am…. very very disappointed. It looks like 4 steps back now in terms of software development. Many functions are lost, just few basic left, and I see on the forum about many mistakes and bugs.

Work hard please as the soft is very bad now.

    Best,

    D

  34. Pawel

When will there be a voice feedback option for Windows Phone. There is such option for other platforms which is very useful.

  35. Simone

    Hi team,
a necessary function is the “ofline use of the map”.
When you are in a area with no cellular signal the app simply doesnt track.

  36. Phil

    Hi ST Team,
today I tracked a 4 hour biketour with Nokia Lumia. Being on target I wanted to save and upload the file but ST closed without savin the file ..
Question: can I fand the data anywhere?
Thx for your answer & best regards
    Phil

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, very sorry to hear it closed before you could save. Unfortunately there’s no autosave at the moment, but it’s on the to do list for upcoming updates. Sorry!

      1. Maciej

Autosave is not an solution… and you know it :/ Multitasking + autosave for crashes like mine las sunday after 38km of biking.
Maybe you have some statistics of ST usage at WP7 but my all friends I’ve convinced to ST are running away to Endomondo :/
Please hurry up – it’s for your own good :)

    2. krehla

Same problem, last 4 workouts lost without sync.. mabye go for runtastic solve this problem, but I am using ST longer than half year and I become acclimatized :-) please fix it (running @ htc titan v 1.3)

  37. MP

Hi, the current Lumia WP version has a bug when running Sports Tracker and you press the camera button. When pressing camera button to switch to camera mode the Sport Tracker loses all data or is shut down. If you switch to menu and then you press the camera button you can continue without losing data. Auto data save features is a must on WP phones… Propably this is a feature of WP but to the end user it’s a bug.

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, thanks for the feedback. We’re aware of the camera issue and will try to fix it. You can get around it by unlocking the screen before you take a picture. Autosave is coming:).

  38. Marius,N

HI ST team and other users on WP.
Last couple of training sessions i had a problem of phone actualy switching of completely nad being in need of restart ( 3 side buttons ) to switch it on again. i noticed that happened all 3 times while listenign to music and having ST on at around 30min mark .

anyone else had similar issue or could think of what might be wrong?

    thank you andvance

  39. Charles

Today is end of June, target date for the release of v4.0 and there’s no news!!! I shall patiently wait a little longer!!!;-)

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi Charles!

Good point! :) The team is hard at work and we expect to submit the update early next week so it seems we were a bit too optimistic re the launch date but the update is coming – rest assured! :) Follow us on Twitter / Facebook to get the news when the update is out!

Thanks for your patience & support!

      – Jussi / Team ST

      1. Charles

You see!!! I always get a positive and quick answer from the Team (even on a Saturday)!!! That’s why you’re the best!!

  40. Hamilton

i´ve changed my device nokia N97 … my new one is lumia 710. What is going on with my heart rate belt ??? what about upload my pictures??? will i need change my device???

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi!

HRM-support will be added when Microsoft adds the necessary Bluetooth profile support to the Windows Phone platform. PIcture uploads are also in the roadmap. No exact date for release yet but it’s coming :)

      – Jussi / Team ST

  41. Marian

Sorry guys. Let’s discuss with microsoft about backround tasks. I’ve used it on Nokia 50, 66 and now with WP7.5 on SAMSUNG omnia W. But it’s terrible compared to older despite running on better HW. I have smartphone but I can only run Sportstracker. nothing else…
I was able even on E50 to run sportstracker and voice navigation withou any problem. Now I cannot touch the phone. It’s poor together with WP…

And please add the chart data instead of “summary”. It was good to see speed/distance and speed/time. Is it really so complicated?
    Thanks a lot.

    1. Maciej

It’s the worst thing – I have no idea how come ST Team released so useless version. Multitasking should be the highest priority. All mine non-tech friends just CAN’T use ST. You have no idea how many users you are loosing:/
With all my love to ST (user since 2008, beta for nokia) I just feel bad when I see all changes in Endomondo (works perfect at WP7!). Why you are sleeping? :(

  42. VT974

    Nice !

The 2 big issues I’ve suffered are solved :
    – timezone issues appearing under some circumstances
    – lose data by accidentally by switching the app to the background

    Thanks guys, keep working !

Maybe an Android app designed for tablet ? Please !

    1. Maciej

There already is an app for Android Tablets :D It works soooooooooo stable at my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I want to use it at long bike expeditions because of battery, solid work and amazing precision of GPS.

  43. Charles

HI everyone, I’ve just got back from a run and all the promised improvements are working – thanks STT!!! I’m looking forward to the next v1.4 update promised for the end of the month (I don’t like being behind on the ST app. on other phones)!!!!!

  44. Lloyd

When will you be adding the manual lap feature? I used this in Symbian and Android extensively to track times for my mountain bike routes. As one never retunrs to the end of a route the autolap feature won’t help.

  45. Alasdair C-S

    Hi Guys,

Sports Tracker was my single clear favourite leisure app on the E71, and it was because of Sports Tracker that I really liked that phone.

I was seriously disappointed when the Lumia 800 version had no HRM support, but I understand that the BT SPP is not supported (stupid Windows Phone). I was also very annoyed to find how rubbish the background task processing was (stupid Windows Phone).

I have, however, been extremely irritated by Sports Tracker losing my data. That’s not the phone’s fault. The old Symbian one used to warn me when I started it saying there was unsaved data, but the WP7 version seems to rely on persistence which is lost if it crashes or gets otherwise restarted. Try this:

    1. Start a new workout
    2. Lock the phone
    3. Ride your bike for 5 hours
    4. See something amazing and take a picture by holding down the camera button without unlocking the phone first.
    5. It’s just lost 5 hours of ride data. Gone. No way back.

I’ve more or less stopped using Sports Tracker because it’s far more annoying to track and lose data than not to track at all.

Send me the code and I’ll fix it. Or at least write the data to a persistent file or database.

    Best regards,

    Alasdair.

Hi, we’re looking at this. But you can get it to work if you first unlock the screen and then take a photo. Autosave is also on it’s way.

    2. Alasdair C-S

Lost another 60+ miles last night because my battery died. Auto-save has to the the number 1 priority feature. While I’m here… I’d also like to be able to load a published gpx track for an event (or a previously recorded workout) so I can use the one app for both navigation and tracking. An alarm if I go off the track would be cool too. And finally, the mapping. It is incredibly slow and unresponsive compared to e.g. Bing Maps or Nokia Drive, and it would be supercool it you could take advantage of pre-downloaded maps like Nokia Drive.

      Looking forward to 1.4… :-)

    Hi,

any idea when we can expect a live tile for the app? I always found it motivating on runkeeper to see how much I run this month already.

Thanks for the updates; those are some useful updates as I was getting frustrated at how easy it is to lose workouts.

What I really need is bluetooth HRM support! I bought your monitor for €70 when it first came out and now it is useless for me. Is there any progress on this.

Anyway, thanks again for the great app.

    Si

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi Simon!

We would love get the HRM working as well but at the moment the Windows Phone platform does not support the necessary Bluetooth profiles :(

So until Microsoft updates the platform there is nothing we can do. We just have to wait it out…sorry!

      1. Andrewki

I heard news about Windows Phone 8 and 7.8 so I ask: will the Bluetooth features finally available on 7.8 in order to have the HRM on our devices?
Have you some better “internal” news normal readers cannot have?
I have a Lumia 800, should I definitely stop to think about the HRM on it?

        Really thanks

        1. Chris

Actually using ST on my little HTCC Wildfire on Android and I kindly satisfied about it.

I’m about to move on Nokia Lumia with WP 7.8

Wath is the exact BT profile needed for ST HRM ?

According to Wikipedia BT Profile list it can be a couple of them ?

Hi, just downloaded v1.3 and seems that the GPS is out. Did normal run route and reached 10k in less distance than with v1.2

  50. John-Pierre

ok it did update now, thx.
However, there are still two versions in the market place. I have a Nokia Lumia 800, does that mean the Nokia version is better for me or are they both the same? thanks

    1. Jussi Solja

      Hi!

They are the same exact app. We recommend you install the version by Sports Tracking Technologies but both work and are exactly the same :)

  51. Stefano

    Good !!

    except for two things….

    1- Not Italian language
2- Does not support my “heart rate monitor”,working hand in my symbian.

    Tanks

  52. John

Please sort the photo upload for the windows phone, the heart rate belt function would be great too although i realise it’s out of your hands, is there any idea of when it might happen. Thanks.

  53. Charles

    Yep, i’ts working! Happy tracking!!

  54. Charles

v1.3 now available on Marketplace :) I’m downloading right now!!!

  55. Oleg

No updates yes at Marketplace for Nokia Lumia 610 :(

  56. zulujavier

Thanks it was possible to update, so keep great application I use every day. Greetings.

  57. John-Pierre

Hi, there is a version 1.2 and 1.3 on the Windows Phone market place.
v1.2 by sports tracking technologies ltd
    v1.3 by Nokia international oy
I already have v1.2 on my phone (Nokia lumia 800) and can’t update it with v1.3. Is this a problem in the market place? Should I wait for a market place refresh or should I uninstall 1.2 and then install 1.3? Does it mean I loose all tracks that are saved on my phone?

    Thank you!
(also for fixing two issues I reported, I am dealt very happy with that!)
    John-Pierre

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, now there’s a our 1.3 version as well, so you should be able to download that. They’re the same apps but different providers.

      1. Pete

        Hi,

The publishing date in marketplace for v 1.3 is 15.12.2011? Is that correct?

  58. zulujavier

Well I have a Nokia 800 and Lumia The version available in the marketplace is still 1.2, you can have if they solve, thanks.

  59. zulujavier

The version available in the marketplace is still 1.2, you can have if they solve, thanks.

  60. jukka

When will you add the function that when i take a photo when running sports tracker it will download those photos to internet? I remember having this on my N8 but its not here in Lumia phones.

    1. Andrewki

Agree, this feature is missing on the Windows Phone version, I appreciated it a lot on Nokia N8. Please add it.

    2. Jussi Solja

The photo upload is coming. Don’t have an exact date for you yet but it is coming :)

  61. Lasse

    Hello,
thanks for the new SW update.
Is there a way to give a new user defined name for Other1 or any Other tags. I would like to add Formula windsurfing.
    thx
    Lasse

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Hi, you can add the name in the description, you can’t really change it otherwise. We’ll add more sports later on, windsurfing being one of them.

      1. Maciej

But why only some sports, can’t users build some list? I doubt that there will be longboarding or ice skating and such. In WP7 edit there is only one type of skiing. I’m using St since 2008 beta, bring many of my friends but ST is always many steps after.
IMHO you really need some business model to found your expansion, there is SO many ideas how to do this easily! :)

    Voice feedback for WP?

    1. Andrewki

Having a voice feedback at least every 1 km and/or every 5 minutes both configurable shouldn’t cost too much and can be very useful. If the voice is difficult I propose a sound.

    2. hudi g

Seriously this is a must have feature, Endomondo is killing u guys on features but your UI is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay nicer, so please start ramping up the feature set so i can start using your app since features beat design in a running app.

  63. Leonardo

Sport tracker for Symbian is out? or will be new update?

    1. Leonardo

      voice feedback for Symbian?

    2. PsychoTracker

+1 on the Symbian update needed! :) Nokia 808 PureView is almost released and there is no SportsTracker update for Symbian?

  64. Charles

Hi Team! I’ve tried to update to version 1.3 but Windows Marketplace tells me that the actual version is 1.2. In case of error, I disinstalled and reinstalled but I think I still have the old v.1.2 (as the app does’nt show the version I’m not sure). Please avise!!!

    1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

Yes we were a bit eager to get this announcement out:). If you have a Nokia phone, there’s a Nokia version 1.3.0 out already, if you don’t, no worries, ours will be out soon as well (in max 24 hours). Sorry for the confusion, we’re just so happy to spread the good news;)

      1. Charles

Katja, You’re the best! I always love your fast answers!!!

        1. Katja/ team Sports Tracker

          Haha thanks:))

  65. Jari Lietzen

Great that you are updating this “niche” OS version also.
The HR bluetooth belt support is missing.
So are missing all the screens that I can see in my Android (SGS2), like History, Friends, Nearby.
When will those appear in the WP version?

  66. Håvard O E

What about nailing the Bluetooth connection to the HR belt? A competitor of your already has this up and running, so it should be within reach.

    Cheers,
    Håvard
